The Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company.
Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Manages accounting records ensuring compliance with GAAP.
Responsible for the production and accuracy of financial reports ensuring issued on time and accordance with GAAP.
Stays current on all FASB and GAAP updates; modifying policies and procedures accordingly.
Establishes and maintains accounting processes and protocols.
Maintain an internal control system.
Manage accounting team (AP, AR, GL, Inventory, Cost, expense).
Works with the external auditors to lead annual audit.
Works with external tax accountants; stay apprised on all local, state, and federal laws.
Ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.
Assist with annual budget and monthly forecasting.
Reviews financial details, past, present, and future for development opportunities and improvements.
Advises and supports Managers and other team members with the implementation of accounting and internal control policies.

Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position oversees accounting operations within the department.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office and, in some cases, from a remote offsite location.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is primarily sedentary but will occasionally be required to stand or balance when conducting onsite training, as well as walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
This position requires good manual dexterity and coordination, with the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position.
Days and hours can change at the discretion of the CFO; though typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.
m.
to 5 p.
m.
Some weekend hours will be necessary to accommodate any issues that might arise.
TravelMinimal travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required; Masters preferred Ten years or more of related experience required.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA )or Certified Management Accountant designation required.
Deep knowledge of AP, AR, Expense, Inventory Experience with Sage is preferred.
Agriculture experience is preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
