This role involves working closely with clients, designers, suppliers, and contractors to ensure that the selected items align with the overall design vision and project requirements.
The Interior Design Selections Coordinator must have a keen eye for design, excellent organizational skills, and strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Client Consultation:
Collaborate with clients to understand their design preferences, needs, and budgetary constraints.
Guide them through the selection process by presenting various options and providing expert advice on materials, colors, textures, and finishes.
Material and Finishes Selection:
Assist clients in choosing suitable materials, including flooring, wall coverings, paint colors, cabinetry, countertops, hardware, and lighting fixtures.
Consider factors such as aesthetics, durability, functionality, and budgetary limitations.
Product Research:
Conduct extensive research to identify and source new products, materials, and furnishings that align with the design concept.
Stay updated with the latest trends and innovations in the interior design industry.
Samples and Catalogs:
Maintain an organized library of material samples, catalogs, and other design resources.
Present these options to clients for review and selection.
Coordination with Design Team:
Collaborate with interior designers, architects, and contractors to ensure that the selected materials and finishes integrate seamlessly into the overall design plan.
Communicate design intent and specifications clearly to the team.
Supplier Management:
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Obtain pricing quotes, negotiate contracts, and manage purchase orders.
Documentation and Tracking:
Create and maintain detailed records of selected materials, specifications, and associated costs.
Prepare and distribute documentation to clients, designers, and contractors as needed.
Budget Management:
Assist clients in making informed decisions within their budgetary constraints.
Monitor expenses and provide regular updates to clients and the design team.
Project Coordination:
Collaborate with project managers to ensure the timely delivery and installation of selected materials.
Coordinate with contractors and tradespeople to address any installation or construction-related challenges.
Client Support:
Provide ongoing support and assistance to clients throughout the design and construction process.
Address any questions, concerns, or changes in design preferences promptly and professionally.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience in interior design selections, material sourcing, or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of interior design principles, materials, and finishes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, design teams, and suppliers.
Proficiency in design software and tools (e.

, Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop) is desirable.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
