Pursuing Excellence, Inspiring Innovation, Promoting Teamwork and Embracing Service Under the supervision of the TB Team Leader, plans, implements, and evaluates direct nursing care and coordination of services to individuals and families receiving TB services within an assigned area.
Utilizes the nursing process to develop, coordinate, implement and revise nursing care plans with patients, families, communities, and health care providers.
Completes necessary physical assessment and health history of patient according to TB program guidelines.
Assesses patient and family needs, resources, community problems and barriers to care.
Utilizes services available to determine an appropriate plan of care.
Obtains necessary lab work including, but not limited to CBC, liver function tests, IGRA's, HIV tests, and sputum specimens.
Provides counseling and education about laboratory testing, follow-up x-rays, physical examination and therapy for TB prevention or disease.
Provides treatment and/or administration of medication under physician or standing orders.
Maintains and dispenses medication in the TB clinic according to policy.
Evaluates effectiveness of care and provides appropriate follow-up and communication with patient, physician, and other health care workers as indicated.
Maintains records and reports in accordance with agency standards including documentation in the patient record, PCAS, weekly reports, etc.
Participates in CQI activities such as record reviews, program evaluation, team meetings.
Provides for self, agency, and community development through participation in:
Intra-agency staff conferences and team conferences Community activities as appropriate.
Identification of patient/community needs and case finding activities.
Continuing education opportunities.
Participation in disaster/emergency response.
Other duties as assigned.
State Minimum Requirements:
Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.
Some positions require a valid driver's license.
Also, some positions require certification in Basic Life Support and/or Basic/Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Agency Additional Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.
Valid driver's license; may be required to use personal vehicle.
Must be able to make home visits.
Must have the ability to utilize client-centered counseling techniques while incorporating the use of community resources.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Must have cognitive ability to apply knowledge and education to provide appropriate nursing care to TB patients and their families according to the TB Program guidelines.
Ability to function as a team member.
Must have the mobility, manual dexterity and the capacity to maintain proficiency in the use of sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, nebulizer, venipuncture and TST administration.
May be in contact with an infectious or potentially infectious TB case/suspect.
Must be able to pass a fit-test and able to use appropriate respiratory protective equipment.
Employee will be expected to participate in an emergency or major disaster to expedite services to the public as outlined in the DHEC/District/County plans.
During such times, the incumbent should regard himself/herself as being on 24-hour call and subject to duty when such events occur or are anticipated to occur.
Immunization:
All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Pertussis, Varicella, and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.
Public Health staff with job-specific risk of COVID-19 exposure who choose not to receive the COVID-19 vaccine or provide documentation of prior vaccination, or who are unable to be vaccinated due to medical contraindications or religious exemption, will be required to receive routine periodic COVID-19 testing by DHEC on a weekly basis.
Vaccinated employees will not be required to receive periodic testing but may elect to be tested to monitor their health status.
State Disaster Plan:
In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, DHEC employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.

Driving Record:
If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver's license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
